Durga Devi (DD) Patel, a wealthy jewelry designer, has a strained relationship with her daughter, Roshni, who feels unloved. Roshni manages an NGO and dislikes Siddharth Khurrana, who pretends to be middle-class. Despite their differences, Siddharth falls in love with Roshni, and they marry, with Siddharth becoming a “”ghar jamai”” in DD’s home.

However, Siddharth’s sister Kritika manipulates the family, and Rajveer, Simran’s husband, conspires against DD. On the day of Roshni and Siddharth’s second wedding, Simran reveals she has taken control of DD’s wealth using Siddharth’s power of attorney. Roshni blames Siddharth and leaves for Bangkok, devastated.
